PRODUCT CASE STUDY — 03
AryaStack Commerce
A composable e-commerce platform: storefront, admin, native mobile and a GraphQL commerce core.
AryaStack Commerce is a four-app platform built as one system — a Next.js storefront for shoppers, a Next.js admin for store operators, an Expo native app with full feature parity, and a NestJS GraphQL server that enforces every business rule server-side.
Visit live site ↗Commerce platforms fail where the apps drift apart. This build treats web, mobile and admin as one surface over a single GraphQL source of truth.

01 — THE STARTING CASE
Most commerce stacks treat mobile as an afterthought and admin as a chore.
Storefronts get built first, the admin panel lags behind, mobile ships a reduced feature set, and business rules (tax, shipping, COD limits) end up duplicated — or worse, enforced client-side where anyone can bypass them.
01
Parity drift
Mobile apps lag the web store: missing coupons, missing wishlist, missing review flows. Customers feel the gap immediately.
02
Rules enforced in the wrong place
GST, shipping thresholds and COD limits computed in the client are suggestions, not rules. Checkout must be authoritative on the server.
03
Stale operations
Admins work on refresh-and-pray dashboards — order and ticket updates arrive late because nothing is pushed to them.
02 — WHY THIS PRODUCT NEEDS TO EXIST
One GraphQL core, four apps, zero drift.
The platform is designed around a single NestJS GraphQL server that owns all business logic: catalog, cart, checkout, payments, shipping and support. Every client — web storefront, admin dashboard, native app — is a thin surface over the same schema.
GraphQL subscriptions push order, ticket and notification updates to every surface in real time, so an admin sees an order the moment a shopper places it. Mobile ships the full storefront feature set — home, catalog, filters, product detail, cart, Razorpay checkout, account, wishlist, reviews and coupons — as a hard parity constraint.
SERVER IS AUTHORITATIVE
Checkout, GST and shipping rules live in the server. Clients render; they never decide.
PARITY IS A CONSTRAINT
Every web storefront feature has a native equivalent — no reduced mobile experience.
REAL-TIME BY DEFAULT
GraphQL subscriptions keep shoppers, admins and support looking at the same truth.
03 — WHAT WE BUILT
A complete commerce journey on both web and native.
The platform covers the full D2C flow — discovery to delivery — with the admin and mobile apps built from the same schema as the storefront.
01
Storefront & native app
Home, catalog with search and filters, product detail, cart, wishlist, reviews and coupons — in Next.js and in Expo with NativeWind.
02
Checkout & payments
Razorpay-powered checkout with server-enforced GST, shipping thresholds and COD limits, plus Google OAuth and OTP login flows.
03
Admin operations
A Next.js admin for catalog, orders, reports and support tickets — with real-time updates pushed over GraphQL subscriptions.
04
Account & after-sales
Orders, tracking, addresses, profile management and support tickets — consistent across every surface.

04 — UNDER THE HOOD
Four apps, one contract.

05 — PRODUCT PRINCIPLES
The rules that keep the platform coherent as it grows.
•
Thin clients, thick core
Every surface stays a rendering layer; business logic never leaks into the apps.
•
Parity is reviewed, not hoped for
Mobile changes are checked against web behaviour unless a platform limitation forces a documented divergence.
•
Fail closed on security
A global JWT guard protects the schema; public resolvers are explicit exceptions.
•
Real-time is the default UX
Orders, tickets and notifications update live everywhere — no refresh-and-pray dashboards.
A four-app commerce platform built to demonstrate system thinking.
AryaStack Commerce shows the composable commerce story end-to-end: a GraphQL core with authoritative business rules, and web, admin and native surfaces that stay in lockstep through one typed schema.
STRATEGY
Chose composability over a monolithic storefront: four focused apps over one schema, so any surface can evolve independently.
DESIGN
A clean, neutral design system with a confident primary colour, carried faithfully from web into NativeWind on mobile.
ENGINEERING
Subscriptions, transactional checkout and server-enforced commerce rules — with secure token handling on every platform.
06 — WHAT COMES NEXT
A roadmap expressed as capabilities, not speculative promises.
The build is complete as a platform demonstration; the roadmap extends it toward production-grade retail operations.
NOW
Now
Full storefront, native parity, admin operations and Razorpay checkout with server-enforced rules.
NEXT
Next
Deeper merchandising — collections, recommendations and analytics for store operators.
LATER
Later
Multi-tenant mode so independent stores can run on the same commerce core.
NEXT PROJECT
Build the next system with AryaStack.
If your product problem is still messy, that is a good starting point. We help turn ambiguity into a system teams can ship and evolve.
